New education requirements for Principal Brokers
On Broker, Principal Broker, and Property Manager License applications received by the OREA on or after January 1, 2010, applicants must certify that they have a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) Certificate. This applies not only to new licensees but also to current broker licensees who want to become licensed as Principal Brokers. In turn, any broker wanting to become a Principal broker after December 31 st., 2010 will have to take and pass a new, additional, state exam to obtain their new license. For those wishing to become Principal Brokers, now is the time to obtain the Principal Brokers license before the new laws go into effect.
What is your license number?
The agency has made the largest changes in real Estate education since 1995. Among those are that Certificates of Completion for CE courses are now called Certificates of Attendance. As certified continuing education providers/Instructors begin to comply with the new Agency rules, brokers wanting to receive Certificates of Attendance for CE courses must know and report their license number to the course provider/Instructor. The license number must appear on the Certificate of Attendance as well as in the providers records. The new regulations require the provider/instructor to maintain a list of all attendies by name and license number. If the provider/instructor does not have the number they may refuse to give the Certificate until the number is provided.

New Training Center!
Superior Schools, Inc. announces the grand opening of their new career school Training Center. With their expansion into this new, spacious facility, they are now offering increased enrollment in live instruction, accelerated classses including Real Estate License, Pre-License Review, Advanced Real Estate Practices and Real Estate Business Building Training.
They have also just begun Insurance Pre-License and Construction/Contractor licensing. All classes are approved by the Oregon Real Estate Agency, the Oregon Construction Contractor Board, the Oregon Insurance Division, as well as the Oregon Department of Education.

30 Years of Excellent Service!
Superior Schools, Inc. / Pro-Studies announces their 30th year as a professional career school in Bend, Oregon. Started in 1978 Superior Schools has enrolled and tutored over 22,000 students throughout Oregon and the world. With a current enrollment of 1,200 students, they offer careers in Real Estate, Insurace, Securities, Construction / Contractor, Hospitality, and many more.
By utilizing a distance-learning format, Superior Schools allows most students to study in almost any location on their own schedule. Many courses are offered in a variety of forms including textbook, computer based and online material.
Recently they have begun to offer accelerated classroom instruction designed to allow a student to achieve their career goal in the shortest amount of time.
Superior Schools was founded by one of America's leading specialists in real estate and insurance training, Charles C Brown PhD and his wife Sally. The former Director of Education for the Oregon State Real Estate Division, Dr. Brown located his Central Oregon Center for Professional Studies on Anderson Road, in Bend. In time, the company name was shortened to Center for Professional Studeis and the center eventually relocated to their present location at 61419 South Highway 97, Suite C.
The name became shortened to Pro-Studies in 2001. Upon the companies change of ownership in 2006 the name was changed to Superior Schools to eliminate confusion with the name of a previous supplier. The new owners, Mike and Linda Forbes, have a combined record of over 37 years in Real Estate, Insurance, Securities and Professional Sales.
Linda has been the Principal Broker and Real Estate School Director for over 12 years with a leading real estate firm in Oregon. Mike has just retired from 25 years as a successful Securities broker and financial planner. Between them, they have published 9 real estate textbooks approved for pre-license training by the Oregon Real Estate Agency and the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials.
Since its inception, Superior Schools has been a leader in the career school field. Dr. Brown held seminars in other communities, analyzing students test results and tutoring them to improve their exam scores. His school's pass rate for the first twenty months was 100% of all students passing their state real estate exam. This record led to the innovation in becoming the first school in the state to guarantee that students taking the course would pass their state exams.
