Continuing Education Requirements
All active real estate licensees in Washington must fulfill continuing education requirements in order to remain licensed. Here's a brief recap of Washington license renewal and continuing education requirements.
First renewal: Your initial license will expire on your second birthday after it was issued. To renew it for the first time, you must have completed at least 60 hours of real estate courses approved by the Department of Licensing, including a 30-hour Real Estate Practices course and a three-hour Core Curriculum course.
Subsequent renewals: After the first renewal, your license will expire every two years on your birthday. For each subsequent renewal, you must have completed at least 30 hours of approved real estate courses, including the three-hour Core Curriculum course.
