Frequently Asked Questions and Answers:
1. What are the steps to receiving CFP credit from Superior Schools?
First you need to select which courses you would like to take from the menu and have your order processed. You are required to successfully pass a final exam for each course. Once passed, you will have access to your certificate online, and we will report your credit hours to the CFP Board.
2. How long will it take to receive my CFP certificates?
We will have your CFP certificate available online as soon as you complete the course. We will also report your CFP hours directly to the CFP Board on your behalf.
3. When will my CFP hours be reported to the CFP Board?
We will report electronically to the CFP Board every 10 days.
4. What is the CFP Board's CE requirement?
Holders of a CFP designation must report 30 hours of CE each reporting period. This period is the same as the licensee's renewal period, a two-year period ending with the last day of the renewal month. Two of the 30 hours must be earned from a pre-approved CFP Board "Code of Ethics" and/or "Practice Standards" program.
5. Can I carry CFP hours over to the next reporting period?
No. Hours in excess of the 30 hours required for the reporting period may not be carried over to the subsequent reporting periods.
6. How does the system work?
It's quick, easy, convenient, and low-cost and you can study at your leisure. We offer online testing and instant grading. For CFP continuing education courses we offer electronic reporting to the CFP Board every 10 days for those who pass the course. All of our courses are currently approved for CFP continuing education credit.
7. Where can I see the courses available?
To browse through the courses available for your credit hours begin by pressing the "CE Courses" button to the side of this page, or from the drop down menu at the top. From the displayed list of courses, select the course you are interested in by checking the box to the right of the course title. When done, click on the add to cart button to
proceed with registration.
8. How many credit hours will I receive?
Credit hours for Superior Schools courses vary. To find out the hours for a specific course, review the information on the course catalog page.
9. How do I purchase a course?
In selecting your courses you may view the course description by clicking on the course title on the course catalog page. To view the topics covered, learning objectives and to see a sample chapter, click on the word sample to the right of the course title. Once you have selected the courses you wish to take by checking the box to the right of the course title on the course catalog page, clicking the add to cart button will take you to the registration page. From here you will be asked to verify your selection and you will have the opportunity to select which form of payment you wish to use.
10. Is it safe to order online?
Yes. Your personal information is transmitted to a secure server. All information is encrypted and cannot be retrieved by anyone other than the credit card company. Not even our customer support staff can retrieve any of your credit card information. When you are entering in your order information, please use the address that matches the address for your credit card you enter. As a security measure, the credit card processing service matches the address entered with the primary address of the card and will reject the transaction if the addresses are different.
11. When can I take the exam?
You may take the exam online at your convenience up to 6 months from the date of purchase. However, we suggest you complete the courses and submit them for CE credit at your earliest convenience. Our courses are continually updated in order to deliver course content on the latest industry trends and regulations. Once you pass the online exam you will be able to print out a Certificate of Completion for your records.
12. Do I need a proctor for the online examination?
For CFP continuing education credit there is no need for a proctor.
13. If I don't pass the first time, what happens?
This is not a problem. You may retake the exam as many times as needed to pass at no extra cost.
